Following a change in leadership at the start of last season, Jake Goodman stepped up into the role of Ladies Reserves Manager, a position he has held full-time ever since. Jake brings with him valuable semi-professional playing experience, having represented Bilston Town and Halesowen Town, alongside a strong understanding of the women’s game and player development.

Since taking charge, Jake has worked closely with Women’s First Team Manager Clare, creating a clear, structured pathway between the Reserves and First Team. This close alignment ensures consistency in coaching standards, playing philosophy, and player progression, allowing talented individuals to develop confidently within the Sutton United system.

The Ladies Reserves play a vital role in supporting the continued success of the Women’s First Team, offering competitive football, meaningful development opportunities, and a clear route for players stepping into senior women’s football. As the club’s first-ever Ladies Reserve side, the team has quickly become an important pillar of Sutton United’s women’s programme.

With strong leadership, clear direction, and a shared vision across both senior women’s teams, Sutton United is well placed to continue the growth and success of its girls’ and women’s section — providing opportunities for players to develop, progress, and thrive at every stage of their footballing journey.
